Florida State Fair 2016

Real Family, Real Music, Real Fun, sums up Matt’s Family Jam.  Matt and Lisa Rolf and their three children Collin, age 17, Adrienne, age 15, and Benjamin, age 12, love to play music and, most importantly, love playing together.  Wherever their engagements take them, they are eager for the opportunity to entertain people of all ages. They love playing  fun music that makes people feel good!

Matt began his journey in the entertainment business at the age of 10 when he and his sister Robyn, then age 7, began singing together. They toured the United States and Canada over the next 25 years, enjoying performances at fairs and festivals, special events, and appearances on Jamboree USA, the Louisiana Hayride and the world famous Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN.  Near the end of their career together, Robyn introduced Matt to his soon to be wife, Lisa.  Lisa was a beloved music educator at that time and an accomplished clarinet and sax player.  Her years of study and dedication to her craft garnered her much respect and the opportunity to work with some of the finest instrumentalists and ensembles in the Kansas City, MO area.

In 1997, they were married and in March of 1999, were blessed with the birth of their oldest son, Collin.  During his first two years Collin experienced life on the road as a part of the “Matt and Robyn Show” entourage.  He was taking in the experience in a backpack carrier on Lisa’s back during shows as she ran the sound and lighting boards.

In the Fall of 2000, the trio moved to Branson, MO where Matt had taken a job at the Jim Stafford Theatre. Two years later, their daughter, Adrienne, was born.  Many evenings Lisa, Collin, and little Adrienne would come to see Dad work at the theatre.  Those were fun times as the kids loved to watch the shows.

In the upcoming years, the kids grew and Collin loved to sing. He would sing everywhere and began singing with Matt in church at the age of 4.  Eventually, the Rolf family began to find more opportunities to sing together around the Branson area.  Collin loved performing and began doing some regional television commercials and performing in local theatre productions.  In 2005, the Rolfs celebrated the arrival of Benjamin.

At the end of 2005, Matt left the Jim Stafford Theatre and he and Lisa turned their attention to Ozark Productions, the show production company they had purchased.  This company gave them the chance to get back out on the road producing concert events and renewing relationships in the entertainment industry.

Now we jump ahead to 2009.  The family was singing frequently at their home church in Branson and making appearances around the Branson area.  Collin had begun playing the guitar, Adrienne was singing a great deal and Benjamin, right in the middle of it all, was beginning to show unusually good rhythm and coordination skills for a child of such a young age.  The Rolfs were having fun and Matt and Lisa felt a tugging at their hearts to try and take singing as a family to a different level, one where they could use their music to reach people and encourage families.  It felt like a natural fit to return to where they had been just 10 years before, at fairs, festivals, and family friendly events around the United States.

Matt's Family Jam

Past acquaintances in the fairs and festivals market liked the concept of Matt’s Family Jam.  They encouraged Matt and Lisa to move ahead with the idea and so, in a full family collaboration, Matt’s Family Jam came to life.  They hit the road with the show and their mobile stage in the summer of 2011.  The fairs and festivals that featured Matt’s Family Jam at their events loved them, and likewise the Rolf family loved performing for and building relationships with the people they met along the way. It was truly a good fit.

Today, after 7 years of touring, including numerous return engagements to some of the largest fairs and festivals in the United States,  fans can enjoy Collin’s fantastic vocal and guitar abilities, Adrienne’s multi-instrumental work and fabulous vocals both as a lead and harmony singer, and the amazing abilities of Benjamin behind the drumset.  Of course, Matt and Lisa round out the group providing rich family harmonies and instrumental abilities of their own. As a family, the Rolfs are enjoying doing what they love, traveling the country and playing music together. They are thankful for the opportunity they have to make people feel good and encourage other families to have fun doing something together!
